Set in 1940 in the Bahamas. Tom (George C. Scott) sees his three sons after four years. It is a bittersweet reunion as he had left them and his wife Audrey and moved away. Later, the four go on a challenging fishing trek as David tries to catch a Marlin. Based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway.

Michael-James Wixted holds his own up against George C. Scott and gives a riveting performance.






Lassie The Miracle (1975)

Kerry is a mute boy. Lassie is the only one who seems to understand him. Kerry helps Lassie elude a local rancher determined to rid the area of killer dogs. But in the end it's Lassie who helps Kerry the most. Vast stretches of time in the film watching Lassie and her pups roam around the foothills of beautiful southern California.

This film was made by combining a four part series of Lassie episodes from 1970. (See Lassie in the Television section below.) This film was released in 1975, but all the footage was shot in 1970. Formatting spacer

The Swiss Family Robinson (1975)

A Swiss pastor and his family get stranded on a remote deserted island and must learn to survive in this hostile environment. This TV movie made by Irwin Allen (the master of disaster films like "The Towering Inferno") was a pilot, with Martin Milner and Pat Delany as the shipwrecked parents of Michael-James Wixted and Eric Olson. The other survivor is a young girl (Cindy Fisher). They set up treehouse-keeping on a lush island, also inhabited by Cameron Mitchell, shipwrecked there for seven years. Pirates, headed by John Vernon, land on the island and cause all the adventures, except for those caused by tropical storms, volcanic eruptions Formatting spacer and fire.
This pilot movie was picked up and ran for one season (20 episodes). Unfortunately Michael-James Wixted was replaced in the tv series by Willie Aames as 'Fred Robinson'.

A spellbinding and touching post apocalyptic film. Made for TV, this film was a pilot for a weekly tv series. Unfortunately it was not picked up. Michael-James Wixted is excellent!
